• Are the Blackmer Centrifugal Pumps shipped with oil in the bearing house?

  Centrifugal Pumps are not shipped with oil in the bearing house and should be filled with a high quality, anti-foaming turbine oil containing rust and oxidation inhibitors upon installation.

• Is the Centrifugal Pump an API 610 Pump design?

  Centrifugal Pumps meet the intent of API 610, namely guaranteed reliability in hazardous and extreme application environments. The shaft deflection, shaft loading, bearing design life, casing centerline support, and time between maintenance activities each meet API requirements. Centrifugal Pumps are optimized for ANSI process applications, and do not comply with API 610 nozzle loading, impeller design, or mechanical seal design. • Why are Centrifugal Pumps painted yellow and not Blackmer blue?

  The Centrifugal Pump uses a two-part epoxy paint that holds up better in environmental conditions than the Blackmer blue paint. The yellow color is an industry trade mark for Blackmer Centrifugal Pumps.

• Can I use a double mechanical seal?

  Yes, you can use single or double mechanical seals for Blackmer Centrifugal Pumps.
