Autogas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is unique because it can be stored and transported as a liquid but burned as a gas. Autogas dispensing installations frequently utilize regenerative turbine pumps.

Autogas has become the world’s most popular alternative fuel because it is clean burning, high octane, affordable, abundant, safe to use and environmentally friendly. Also growing in popularity is the use of Ebsray® Regenerative Turbine Pumps at Autogas-fueling sites, mainly because the Ebsray pumps can create the differential pressures needed to pump Autogas into a vehicle’s fuel tank at high flow rates despite varying weather conditions.

Ebsray® is pleased to announce a new mechanical-seal assembly for its RC Series Regenerative Turbine Pumps.

Perceived in Italy as an ecological fuel, autogas is getting more and more market share because of environmental problems faced in the country. However, dispensing the fuel in hot climates require a pump that can deliver the required high differential pressures.

Doch die von der italienischen Regierung nunmehr angestrebte Umstellung auf einen höheren Anteil von Propan setzt Tankstellenbetreiber unter Handlungsdruck, besonders in dem heißen Klima südlich Roms.

In late 2017, history was made when AmeGas installed an Autogas-dispensing system at its service station in Sabaudia, about an hour south of Rome. This became the first site in Italy to be equipped with an Ebsray RC40 Series Regenerative Turbine Pump.
